Single mother of 4: help!
Help a Hardworking Single Mom Keep Her Family Afloat
My name is Emily, and I never imagined I would be in a position where I had to ask for help. I have always believed in working hard and providing for my family on my own. Today, however, I am reaching out because I have exhausted every option I know.
I am a single mother raising four incredible children. I am the only adult supporting our household, and every day I work to provide for five people. I commute about an hour each way to work because it is the only job that allows me to earn enough to keep a roof over our heads. Even working full-time, every paycheck is gone almost as soon as it arrives.
Our financial struggles began after I left an abusive marriage. Before my ex-husband left, he destroyed my vehicle and left me responsible for approximately $35,000 in credit card debt. Since then, I have done everything I can to keep my family together and maintain a stable home, but the weight of that debt continues to follow us.
Our mortgage is $1,800 each month, on top of utilities, groceries, insurance, transportation, and all the everyday expenses of raising four children. When unexpected bills come up, I often have no choice but to put them on a credit card just to keep going, making it even harder to get ahead.
Because my income is above the limit for many assistance programs, I have been turned away from help—even though I am supporting a household of five on one income and struggling to keep up with basic living expenses.
Right now, I am asking for help with one mortgage payment. Covering that single payment would give my family the breathing room we desperately need. It would allow me to catch up on other essential bills, continue getting to work, and focus on keeping our home stable for my children.
This fundraiser is not about avoiding responsibility. I work hard every day, and I will continue to do everything I can to support my family. I am simply asking for a chance to get through an incredibly difficult season.
If you are able to donate, no matter the amount, or even share our story with others, it would mean more than words can express. Your kindness could help keep a hardworking family in their home and remind my children that even during the hardest times, there are people who care.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you are able to give!!!!
and I would love to share more photos or more information about my family, but I’m worried about privacy issues or anybody with ill intentions, and knowing too much about my family or being able to locate us through our photos. I’m sorry I have so many lovely photos of my beautiful children that I wish I could show you, but I have to protect my kids from the bad of this world the best I can.
