Someday School
Someday School is an independent "microschool" that is working towards opening this September in the Vancouver, WA area. Based on the Agile Learning Center and Sudbury School models, Someday School believes that learning is a natural process that takes place when children are able to make their own choices and pursue their own interests. Children are taught to set their own goals, try new ideas, and take responsibility for themselves and the world around them. Because we are a small school, we can truly individualize each child's education. We will be accepting children under the age of 8 for this coming school year. Children may enroll as full time or part time students. We also offer the option of taking "a la carte" or drop in classes, ideal for homeschooling children who want to expand their horizons.
We are in need of startup funds to help us hit the ground running. Once the school is operating, tuition and fees will help us pay for teacher salaries, insurance, rent at a location, supplies, and more. However, we need a boost. Your donations will help pay for a down payment on a rental location. We are working on finding a church to rent to us for a low fee, but haven't found many that are interested, so we may have to pay full price for a "commercial" location. It will also help us pay for insurance, equipment, and other set-up fees.
If you make a donation, we will add you to the Honor Roll on our website. You will receive regular updates on the progress of the school, which will continue once the school has officially started. Plus, once we get rolling, you will receive handmade thank you notes from our students!
This may not be as exciting as contributing startup fees for a new brewery or a fancy Shark Tank worthy invention... but you will have our undying gratitude, as well as the knowledge that you are helping to create something very unique and special in the lives of children.
