Welcome to Sonny's Ranch, a no-kill sanctuary for dogs who just need a leg up in life. After a recent visit to a local facility to adopt a dog who would otherwise be euthanized due to overcrowding, my husband and I were particularly affected by the number of pit bulls in the facility. 90% of the dogs there were pit bulls and the euthanasia statistics were overwhelming. We adopted "Sonny", a pit bull terrier and can't now imagine life without him. We have another rescue, an Italian greyhound, and not only does he affectionately love her, he is well mannered and well trained. Justin (my husband) has worked previously at animal sanctuaries with everything from pets to farm animals to exotics. Diane (me) works at a Christian nonprofit organization that helps prisoners become productive members of society. Together we realized what we really want to do is offer a place for the unloved and neglected, where they could be trained to be adopted as pets or at least live the rest of their lives happy, clean, loved, and fed. To start a little seed money for this venture,  we are investing in a small candle making business called "Sonny and Daisy Candles" with any proceeds going to setting up the nonprofit Sonny's Ranch. We don't expect much but maybe enough to help. I'm setting up this fundraiser to help buy land or another facility for sale, we're hoping by 2019. In the meantime, Justin will be working on animal training certifications and Diane will be looking at veterinarian education. All donations will directly go only to Sonny's Ranch and we're going to setup some donations like remote adoption or name a dog stall in your honor (or someone you love). Blessings to each of you.
