On February 11th, while traveling in Guatemala, our dear Shauna had a terrible accident. As a result, she suffered a fractured skull, frontal lobe hemorrhage, subgaleal hematoma, swelling in her brain, a badly broken leg, and two broken vertebrae in her spine.

Since hospitalization, she has had an operation on her leg, and now must undergo spinal surgery to address the broken vertebrae. Due to the seriousness of the required surgery, it is imperative that Shauna is medically repatriated to Ireland.

The options for emergency medical transport are limited and expensive. Because of the severity of her injuries, she needs to be transported on a stretcher, which raises the cost of travel even higher. She will also require medical assistance for the duration of the flight. It will take all of us coming together to get Shauna back to Ireland where she can get the care that she needs to recover.
