Steve Vincent Emergency Fund

I am Michael Brinsley, recent volunteer for the “Steve Vincent Emergency Fund” in Hyampom, CA.  In just the last several days, it has been rewarding to work with so many people assisting with their time, effort, events and general goodwill from all over Northern California.  I have set up FreeFunder.com and PayPal accounts to further assist in getting the word out that “We Still Need Help!” We can do it, but we need more donations, volunteers and truck transfers for cleanup of the property.  100 % of all donations will be applied to the Steve Vincent Emergency Fund.


What happened: Steven Vincent, is a 70 yr. old Vietnam Veteran.  A resident of Hyampom, CA for 37 years loses everything as his home was destroyed by fire on February 22, 2017.  He lives alone, never married, no children and his total monthly income is $650 per month. What do we need? is primarily what people are asking, and how they can give:  The new home foundation is laid, and the framing is complete. We have roofing supplies on site.  What we need now is:

  1. Drivers and 4 to 6 Truck Transfers, to remove the fire debris and rubble from the property.
    Money is being collected to pay for the dump fees and to purchase home building materials.  An Excavator has volunteered to fill the transports on the dates of 12-26 to 12-29-2017, this should go quickly. Sanitary Landfills that are located near Hyampom, CA community are in Weaverville, Redding, and Eureka.
  2. Journeymen Tradesmen in the fields of contractors, plumbing, electricians, and roofers are requested. Carter Blackmun is the General Contractor, coordinator.  Contact him by email [email protected] or by phone:  530-263-1520
  3. The new home is covered by a black tarp, but a roofer who is available in the near future would be of great benefit to the project.
