Stevie's 18th birthday
PLEASE SHARE!!!!!
My name is Regina, and I am the proud mother of 4 wonderful children. Today I would like to talk to you about my youngest daughter, Stevie. Keep in mind that Stevie has a different father than her siblings.
Stevie has never had an easy life. For much of her young life I was struggling with addiction. Which meant a lot of instability for my kids. When I got clean in 2013, I ended up very ill for quite some time. She was only 13 but never left my side.
She had to experience loss from a very young age. Both of my parents, her grandfather on her dad's side, her sister, her cousin and then at the young age of 15 she lost her father. If that wasn't enough, 2 weeks after the loss of her dad she burned herself severly. She dumped an entire pan of hot frying oil on her lower torso. Between the sudden and devastating loss of her dad and her injury, she fell way behind in school.
By the next school year she was determined to get caught up. So she buckled down and not only did she get caught up but she surpassed her goals. She became her school class president, student site counsel (which makes legal decisions regarding school budget etc..), president of leadership club and prom queen.
She started her senior year needing only 18 credits to graduate. Which means she will be graduating early. She plans on taking a culinary class at the adult school as well as volunteering at her school for the rest of the school year. Then she plans on going to college and majoring in business.
She is the kindest, most generous, hard working kid I know. Oct. 11th is her 18th birthday. I wish I was able to give her everything she deserves. But I can't. I suffered a small stroke and I am hoping that my doctor will release me to return to work by my next visit. So I will set my pride aside and reach out for help.
She wants to rent a house on the beach somewhere for the weekend. And invite a few close friends and family. I figure $2,000 will cover the cost of the rental from Friday till Sunday and the rest of the money to be used for food, transportation and activities.
She deserves this so much. Please help me make this birthday her best one yet! Thank you.
