Stop 1000000 lbs Trash!!!

Solid waste handling facility capacity has been rising recently in Massachusetts. Please consider joining local residents opposition to solid waste expansion in their small town of 8700!

Residents for 50 Tons is a group of Georgetown citizens who have grave concerns about the proposed *500-ton* transfer station that the G. Mello Corporation proposes to build at the end of Carleton Drive.

All funds raised via this effort will go to legal costs incurred in opposing this transfer station.

On May 12th, the Board of Health is expected to make a decision about the G.Mello application to put a 500 ton, 1,000,000 pounds, per day transfer station on Carleton Dr.

The project has been denied by both our Planning Board and Conservation Commission. The boards denials rest on the damaging impact of the unresolvable problems with traffic, wet lands, etc., that this project, by its very nature and size, will create. There are no less than 5 lawsuits against our small town appealing these decisions.

We are beginning steps to appeal the decision of the Board of Health should it be the one that shows a complete disregard for residents and existing businesses.

We will have only 21 days from that May 12th decision to file an appeal. We need to be ready! We appreciate your consideration and support!
