Stranded 300mi From Home
Urgent: Stranded Rideshare Driver Needs Help After Austin Hit and Run
The Situation: Stranded 300 Miles From Home
Life has a way of placing detours on our path, and right now, I am walking some of the heaviest miles yet. Moving to Fort Worth earlier this year was meant to be a fresh start. Unfortunately, the job I had lined up fell through, shifting my entire world.
To provide for myself, I began working tirelessly behind the wheel as a rideshare and delivery driver. When local driving wasn't enough to cover the bills, I made the decision to drive 300 miles to Austin, Texas. Austin is a thriving, booming city where many rideshare drivers go to maximize their earnings.
Then, disaster struck.
The Incident: Austin Hit and Run Accident
On June 10, 2026, at approximately 10:30 PM, I was the victim of a hit and run accident in Austin. The other driver completely fled the scene.
My vehicle, a soul red 2025 Mazda CX-30, is currently sitting at an auto body shop in Austin, Texas.
The Insurance Crisis & Emergency Car Repair Fund
Here is where the pressure becomes truly overwhelming: Because I did not have a rideshare endorsement on my auto insurance policy at the time of the crash, my insurance company refuses to cover the vehicle repairs.
The auto body shop will not release my car until the $2,000 deductible and the remaining repair balances are paid in full. This is why I am urgently launching this crowdfunding campaign to raise $7,000.
Facing Homelessness on the Streets of Austin
Because I am stranded 300 miles away from my home in Fort Worth, I have been forced to stay in a hotel. My funds are now completely depleted. I only have enough money to pay for one more night. After that, I will be completely displaced and stuck on the streets.
I am terrified of becoming a victim of the streets in an unfamiliar city, knowing that my vehicle is the one thing that can save me from this reality. I just need my car back so I do not lose my livelihood and my ability to work.
How Your Donation Makes a Monumental Difference
I know people use crowdfunding for many different types of emergencies. While this might not be a medical miracle, it is an absolute crisis for my life. I am on the verge of homelessness simply because I cannot afford to get my work vehicle out of the body shop.
Your support will directly fund:
- Emergency car repairs and the insurance deductible.
- Safe temporary lodging while the vehicle finishes repairs.
- My safe return home to Fort Worth to resume full-time work.
If you can find it in your heart to donate to this emergency driver fund, I would be more than grateful. I know there are compassionate people who understand how quickly life can change after an accident.
I need help desperately. My back is against the wall. Please consider donating or sharing my story to help me reach my $7K goal. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
