StrandedSenior Needs Help
- I am a senior citizen, a widower who works as an independent contractor - process server/courier in upstate New York. A month ago my car died suddenly which immediately put me out of work with the inability to visit my 15 year old daughter residing a distance away in a "troubled youth" facility in Vermont. I spent weeks attempting to get car repaired but it is too expensive and repair shops do not take payments. I tried to have the dealership "roll over" my previous car debt of $1,564.85 into a new used car purchase with Credit Acceptance (where the debt is) but subprime financers are restricted now. I applied for a $3,000 loan from a local company in order to pay that car debt and have the rest for a down pymt of new used car and was approved for a secured loan but then denied because the car is disabled and cannot be used as collateral. Though I receive $1,600 month Social Security it is just enough to pay rent, utility bills, car payment (yes, I am making pymts on a car I cannot drive now). Making matters worse my 15 year old daughter suffering abuse trauma is over 100 miles away from me and needs my help and support. I cannot get to her anymore and am in a completely helpless situation without a working vehicle.
- The only resolve is to try to raise the funds to pay the bad credit of $1,564.85 to repair my credit whereby the used car companies will be able to sell me a new used car along with raising additional funds for down payment of new used car or in the alternative use the funds to repair the present disabled car. As well, I am not in any bus zone and have no funds to continue my work, get groceries, etc. I have no funds to purchase any "vehicle for sale by owner" either. There is no other resources available to me to rectify this situation. I humbly seek support from the giving community and in return will pay forward as I always have.
