Chimacum and the community that surround it is one of the best places to live, yet every summer many of our families find themselves struggling to find meaningful opportunities for their children during the summer months. Each year when school ends in June, working families must find a way to balance the needs of their children while working fulltime. This often means leaving kids home or trying to afford the expense of costly summer camps outside the Chimacum community. In an effort to find an alternative, a group of local PTA parents have been working tirelessly to create not only a local option for families, but one that is full of enrichment and has a positive impact on the quality of our community. This was the start of what has become the Adventure Summer Camp! The program is designed to provide fun and educational opportunities centered around outdoor physical activities that foster a greater appreciation for the amazing community we live in.

By partnering with local organizations that strive to serve the needs of our community, the program has found the backing and support of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, which has a long history of service to the community. With their support and offer of incorporating the program under their 501(c)3 nonprofit status, the program now has a perfect location to serve the needs of families. The Church is providing the space, insurance, volunteers, and covering utility costs. With their support and generosity the tuition for a 4-week full time camp will be $750. Two terms with a capacity of 20 children are being planned. Despite this amazing price, there are many local families for whom it's still too much (Our local school district has over 52% of children from low income families). This summer program is going to have a tremendously positive impact on children and their parents in our community. Children will engage in various activities such as sports, games, library visits, field trips and many more. This camp is an opportunity to provide a much needed service and will only be possible with financial contributions from people like you.

We aim to raise at least $10,000 to offer as many scholarships as possible. The more money we raise the more children in our community will be able to have an amazing summer!

We thank you for your kind donation! These funds go directly to a bank account specially designated for the camp's scholarships. If you would like a tax deductible receipt confirming your donation, please contact us at [email protected].

THANK YOU!!!
