Meet Dana of Cobb County, Ga, she has lived in this modest home that has been a sanctuary for her family for many decades. After losing her husband 10 years ago she dedicated her life to caring for her 2 sons, Brian, who had suffered a stoke that left him partially paralyzed on his right side and speech impairment. 

Just a few months ago, tragedy stuck when she discovered her youngest son Matt, lifeless in the basement. This sudden loss has left a gaping hole in her heart and house. Their home, once vibrant with life has seen better days. The mounting hospital bills for Brian’s care, therapy and the deteriorating conditions of the home has become a constant reminder of the overwhelming responsibilities that she has been left to manage all alone. 

The foundation around the laundry room is crumbling and has cause the floor to cave in and the walls to crack, the water pipes to burst causing mold and holes in the floor allowing rats and other rodents to enter the home. This has made it impossible to enter the laundry without falling through the floor. The driveway is cracked, crumbling and in need of serious repair to make it more accessible and accommodating for Brian and his wheelchair and Dana’s vehicle.

Dana is seeking help from the community with the hopes of making the house that has become a place of sorrow become a home again, a sanctuary filled with hope, love, and new beginnings.
