Support for my husband

Stacy McgoIdrick & Pita McGoldrick

My husband a post-op kidney transplant(4 years) got ran over by a 1,600lb cow

July 13th my husband Pita and Myself got a call from Noel (grandpa)

and asked if we can help with the cows. In the past Pita (husband) helped load a

few cows into the trailer to go to the sail. Our response was yea we can help he

arranged us to meet him there at the pins around 1:30pm. We also found out that

my mom (Sherina ) was coming down and also helping

Papa(/grandpa) so we met them at there house early to say hi to mom

(sherina) before helping when we got there we were also waiting on my

sister & her husband (Charlotte & Cody) to get there that's when we

learned we were not doing what we originally thought we were. I then Asked

mom(sherina) are we loading cows right? she said well that was the original story,

now we are apparently moving the cows from one field to the 2 pins that are side

by side and the whole head of 40 + cows will be in there, and then after that he

wants to Separate the baby from the Adult cows along with keeping 3 old cows in

with the baby's, to take them to the sale/or butcher.

I told mom then that's not what we signed up for then papa(grandpa) came

out and said ok well let's head up there, so we went to the pins and gathered in

front of them. Papa (my grandpa) said him and Cody (sister husband) will go use

range cubs and bring the herd up and when they come stand in a line here so they

wont cross to the other field and they should go into the pin then one of you run

and shut the gate, my husband never dealt with cows before this was his first real

experience. I had supper easy jobs in the past, and was always scared to death so

was not happy being in situation, but my papa(grandpa) was over 80 and he

needed help so I had to be strong, the cows by this time was approaching

following the range cubs as they were driving the mule and shaking the bucket

and calling them. The cows seen me (Stacy), mom(sherina), husband (pita) in a

line blocking across the road so they can't pass it was a good distance total 30-40

feet wide. The cows begin to get spooked and backing up my grandpa(noel) yelled

at us to scoot back way back and we did, the cows were still very spoked most did

go ahead and go in pins but halfthe heard had to be re routed 2-3 times then

they jumped the fence and escaped

So my grandpa(Noel) came back to us and said well I guess its ok lets go

ahead and get them separated, there was no talking just follow him in the pins,

my grandpa (Noel) said Cody(sister husband) if you would be on the dividing gate

to close and open it when needed will have the baby's on the Left and adults on

the right and he pointed to the 3 cows that were really old he wanted to the left

with the baby's, then immediately started walking up to begin, I said wait mom

I'm not sure what he just said with cows, she said I'm not sure either but I guess

were going. I looked back at my husband and shrugged and told him I not sure

what we are doing except for ill hang back and try to stay out way, so in the right

pin I would estimate it was 40 foot by 40 foot there was 28 scared adults and 10

baby's along with my grandpa(noel) and mom(sherina) myself (Stacy)and my

husband (Pita)and Cody (sister husband) in the middle on the Left other side

there was 5 baby's and 5 adults.

We all went toward the cows as a group and they started to scatter and get

frustrated they didn't know what we were doing and we didn't as well, so I and

my husband stayed fairly in the middle area my mom and grandpa got 5-8 calves

to the other side and my mom(sherina) had a cow run up on her 2 different times

and shoved her and made her get off balance she yelled across the pin to watch

out for this one she is really feisty. At that point I told my husband (Pita) he said

.he seen the cow almost hit mom(sherina) and said I'm not going near that thing,

my grandpa(noel) still putting them threw 1-3 at this stage. Then all the sudden

my brother-in law(Cody) messed up and closed the gate on that really angry cow

that ran up on mom(sherina) before, and she was wedged between the 2 pins

along with the Gate locked impelled into this cow deep that alone was (1 foot

about 6 inches and the with and big of a quarter metal iron rod ) we all ran to the

cow and Cody pulled the rod out of her stomach took him (3 try's) and she was

bleeding we all had to push against the cow to get her un wedged from the gate

and finally we managed to do it the cow stumbled and fell to the ground but got

up and joined the herd, wow we were pretty puffed after that and now there are

roughly 2 baby's left and 2 old cows.

so immediately afterthis event Papa(Noel) Said our Main focus is dividing

the adults so the baby would run through we got 1 baby and 2 old Cows 1 baby

left at this stage l(Stacy) was in the middle of pin and I looked up and saw this Big

adult cow about 5-8 foot in front of me and she started to RUN I begin to reacand waved my arms and boom the cow plowed me down and was over me, I

heard my husband(Pita) screaming and was trying to get to him he was running

toward me the cow got him , 1 kept falling down after my 3rd fall I seen my mom

(sherina) running toward me to help my husband and 1 finally got to him and then

seen the cow had got her as well we all were trying to get out of the pins to safety

, we made it to the mule and I (Stacy) was so dizzy I thought 1 was going to throw

up, and pass out my big toe hurt so bad, my husband (Pita) was in so much pain

he could barely walk and breath he said be broke a rib he believe and needs to go

to hospital ASAP, my mom(Sherina) said she felt ok just shook up and sour and

her left foot hurt, we got back to house and all got into our Personal vehicle( it

was low to ground) and papa(Noel) Offred to drive us to hospital, but

mom(sherina) knew he was not the best driver in this situation and she said she

could handle driving l(Stacy) argued with her but she insisted, we made it to

hospital around 4-5.

Stacy - Hurt lower back & Big toe (No broken bones)

Pita - Hurt Leg, Fractured foot, elbow and a broken Rib

Sherina - Hurt left leg, back, broken rib

Two days after the fact I Stacy was still off and not 100% pita kept asking me did

they check your head I said no he said, you hit your head hard I had no clue, but

seen my personal dr. Lynn the same day and was told she don't even need to do a

MRI scan I do have a concussion.

My husband was in hospital since July 13th -July 27th and was out of work till

August 18th
