Support for sister's surgery
My name is Zahra and I am starting this campaign to support my sister. My sister is 21 years old and has developed a tumor that is pressing on her optic nerve and has spread around her carotid vein. She is currently suffering from extreme pain. She needs to have surgery as soon as possible or there is a risk of the tumor bleeding out and loss of vision and other functions. There is a hospital in California that can perform this specific surgery and has a high success rate. However, it is out of network for my sister and will cost $22,000 for the surgery and $12,000 for post-operation care.
I am reaching out to all of you for help at this time as I have recently lost my job and my sister is unable to cover the costs on her own. We have tried other ways to raise money and we would not be reaching out for help if we had other options. My sister means everything to me and watching her suffer has been hard and knowing there are people out there who can help is giving us some hope.
