Hi, my name is Nikema Prophet. I am a single homeschooling mom, entrepreneur, and STEAM instructor. I am participating in Founder Institute to build the PopSchools company. I was accepted into this program and awarded a Female Founder fellowship. I depended on this award in order to participate because I didn't have the funds to pay the course fee otherwise.

Because I am building a real business, I have real expenses related to that. To be honest, I live in deficit financially. I am giving 30 plus hours to building my business in addition to homeschooling my children.

There's a reason why you don't see people from my background creating innovative tech startups. It's hard to take bold risks with no safety net. It costs money to legally start and run a business.

I'm looking for support just to have some breathing room while I build. I intend to teach for income and drive for Amazon as a delivery driver to supplement the money I receive from my children's father for support.
