Support the change

Hi, Ryan Lewis here. Just over 18 months alcohol and drug-free. I have been in addiction for over 23 years. During COVID, like some of us, I lost everything that I had been working towards. Drinking and more became my everyday life. I ended up in trouble. I have done everything I told the judge I would do to make this right. And I did, and it took a while, but I got it. Now that I am clean, I help others along the way because that's what we do.

I was offered a job and a house near my family. So, after being in contact with this lady about a job—a really great job as head chef—I finally put all my eggs in a row and made the move, leaving Kentucky as well as a house and great job for a better opportunity because it's time to get back to what means most. Unfortunately, all my planning didn't help. I started the job, moved into my new house, only to find out I was being let go due to past charges: DUI and public intoxication. Apparently, my case was reopened due to unpaid fines and fees, which I was certain I had paid. I did, but apparently not the hidden ones.

With this said, I have been out of a job now for two months and lost my housing as well. The day I was let go, I was evicted. No savings at this point. I've been trying to speak with many different lawyers, but I don't have money for an attorney. So, I have applied for legal help in every which way. I was told I need to turn myself in. So that's the plan. I didn't make it this far to quit or to let life beat me down. Still sober and still helping others along the way with what I can. Unfortunately, I don't have the money, and I just want a fair trial. I am asking for help to cover the costs not only for a lawyer but also for my medication and just a little bit of food. At this point, I just want this behind me so I can get back to full-time employment, which I will, but I need to clear this up first. Unfortunately, my family doesn't have it. Another reason for me moving back was to help my family along the way through their struggle as well.

If I may get this help, I have a very small YouTube channel you're welcome to watch as my progress grows along the way with all the positive I share on helping others. That's my best way to pay back—by paying it forward. That's my word. Thank you for your time.
