Support The Movie Report
I am the creator/publisher/writer of The Movie Report, one of the first independent online entertainment outlets as established during my teens in 1995 -- a completely one-person operation attending/writing/producing/shooting/editing film and entertainment event coverage and reviews on its dedicated website/blog, YouTube channel, and social media outlets. The Movie Report 's articles, videos, and photos are not only intended as a preservation and historical document of various events attended and covered, but also that of of the voices and insights of the artists who devote their time, energy, lives, and souls to create their works, large and small. As film and entertainment discourse online has, in recent years, gradually been reduced to rapid, knee-jerk, bite size, and extremely black-and-white takes too often devoid of detail and depth, to say nothing of nuance, I try to uphold the seemingly endangered practice of not only taking some time, attention, and real thought to truly examining the work. Additionally, perhaps even more antiquated in an atmosphere were takedowns and clickbait clapbacks are all the rage, I also make a point of using all the platform(s) I've built over the years to amplify and uplift the voices of worthy art and artists that may too easily slip between the cracks in a constantly moving and too easily distracted entertainment and pop culture landscape.
Maintaining a one-person independent operation has always been a challenge throughout these last three decades (!) and counting. That said, the past few (read: post-COVID and beyond) years have been especially, often painfully, even more difficult to continue doing the work I love while maintaining only the bare minimum basics to literally survive. Your generous donation will go toward continuing this work -- and, moreover, continuing to lend the support and artists -- that I am passionate about, and to simply stay afloat in life and maintain the roof over my head (figuratively and quite literally).
