Hi! My name is Elizabeth. I am currently going through a divorce due to domestic violence and my lawyer fees are now up to about $28,000 which I have no form of paying.

After years of physical, mental, and verbal abuse, I finally decided to leave my marriage. I left with nothing but I knew I had to stand up for myself. Since leaving, I have struggled financially but working 3 jobs, I was able to live paycheck by paycheck. Now, not even 3 jobs is enough to help me. I've explained my situation to my lawyer, unfortunately, they keep asking for the money and I don't want to get dropped as their client due to not being able to pay. My ex-husband and his family are trying to take everything I have and if my lawyer were to drop me, I don't know what I would do.

I make small payments of $100-$150 but to them, that is very little and doesn't help decrease the amount since the case is still in progress.

I am a single mother (I have a son who is 6 years old, and share legal guardianship of my two younger sisters who are 10 and 11 years old since our mom passed away 2 years ago), and having to choose between my bills or getting them clothes/shoes, is horrible. I don't want them to have to struggle because I am struggling.

I have struggled in the past, but I have always been able to get through it. Now I feel like my world is falling apart and I have no one to help me. I pay everything on my own. On top of that, I recently had to get my car repaired which cost $800 which further impacted my finances.

I am asking for any help that can be given, can be as little as $5, because not only will you be helping me, you'll be helping my kids. Any donations I receive, will go to paying for my lawyer so they can continue helping me with this process.
