Hello my name is Deidre, my husband Christopher and I have a 1 1/2 year old pup named Diesel. Diesel unfortunately had an accident on Friday, December, 3rd, 202. We was taking him on a car ride to Tractor Supply to get a few things and of course a bone for him. Diesel Love's sticking his entire head out of the window so that the air blows on his face the whole time we drive. My husband forgot to put the child safety lock on the windows and when we stopped at a red light to make a turn Diesel got up on the doors armrest and pushed on the window button and it rolled all the way down. We started driving and Diesel of course was already hanging his head out the window so when we made the turn he toppled out of it. Fortunately all of the other cars stopped but unfortunately when he fell he hurt his left back leg. We immediately knew that he was hurt bad and I jumped out of the still moving vehicle and ran over to him where he waited for me once he heard my voice yell his name. I picked him up and ran back to the car where we pulled over to examine him. My husband looked at me and said call a vet now. We took him to the emergency vet in Niceville Florida where they examined, sedated, X-rayed, and sent us home with medication to help the pain as well as the inflammation. The vet told us he's gonna need surgery if he's gonna have a successful and full recovery. He landed on the ground with such force that he pulled his ACL and his knee cap hyper extended so it's rubbing bone on bone. Without surgery he will have long term problems and won't ever fully be able to use that leg again. Diesel is a fun, loving, spunky, full of energy as well as life. He's loved everywhere by everyone and he loves the same. He could run around the yard over and over again and not tire one bit. I call it his Oomie Zoomies lol. Diesel is not a dog as some people would call him, he is our son, he is family and we would do anything to make this better for him. The vet bill was $497 and it literally took us broke but we love him and would do anything to help him. The surgery can cost up to $1500. We unfortunately can not afford this at the moment and are looking for some help. Diesel is everything to us and we are so thankful that God gave him to us since we can not have children of our own.
