Sustain Care for Elderly Lady

This fundraiser is created for Connie Olszowy by her daughter-in-law, Laurie, and (step-)granddaughter, Megan. They have known "Mrs. O" for 20 years since Laurie and Megan came into her life. This nickname has stuck since Megan gave it to her all those years ago.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to appeal to the hearts of empaths, to gather funds to keep Mrs. O in her caretaker's caring and healthy home. In this home, family is always welcome and excellent quality of life is encouraged and sustained. The goal amount would cover another year of care and cost of living, besides what her small income and the family can provide.

There is no end date to this fundraiser, so please become a return donor! If you are able to contribute small amounts several times, that would be greatly appreciated.

To help you get to know Mrs. O a little bit better, here is some information about her:

-- She enjoys visiting the local museum with family. She likes short walks, the outdoors, and has a very big appetite! Mrs. O loves to reminisce about her life with just about anybody! Her laugh is contagious, especially when she laughs at her own jokes or watches "The Golden Girls".

--In her younger years her hobbies included long drives, picking mushrooms & flowers, and cooking. She could also be found in her favorite chair reading biographies. Mrs. O has always loved nature and the animals that lived around her home, including moose, foxes, deer, and bears!

-- Mrs. O lost both her husband and son to cancer. Her son's wife and step-daughter (Laurie and Megan) have always cared for her, even following her son's passing. Mrs. O has another living son who has abandoned her and refuses to help even though he is in a very good position to aid her financially.

Laurie and Megan gladly and lovingly continue to support Mrs. O emotionally, and have found her a home that does the same, and provides for her physical and medical needs too. This fundraiser is necessary because Mrs. O's savings will deplete and she will no longer be able to stay in her caretaker's home. In this rural area, Medicaid is not often accepted by caretakers, as in this case. Once impoverished, Mrs. O will continue to receive a small income which will not be enough to cover the cost of living and care. Laurie and Megan have begun to contribute portions of their biweekly paychecks and have cut back on some expenses, in preparation for the need for additional funds for her. They are in no position to quit their jobs, but have always been a consistent part of Mrs. O's life. Together, all three of them enjoy outings, dinner dates, and long visits.

When Mrs. O's age did not allow for as much independence, Laurie and Megan were there to support her. They researched in-depth for options because their goal is to give Mrs. O the very best, always. After finding a great place, Mrs. O is now thriving! Laurie and Megan are desperate to provide her with financial assistance so she can continue to thrive. If forced to leave due to financial circumstances, there is nowhere else Mrs. O would continue to have good quality of life, or even proper care.

Please help Laurie and Megan care for her. They promised her son that his mother would always be cared for and loved. They will never abandon Mrs. O, and your generosity will help to keep her life as good as it deserves to be.

On behalf of Mrs. O, the love and light of our lives, we thank you!
