Sylvan was diagnosed with Diffuse Midline Glioma/High Grade Glioma in July of 2024. Now, almost 14 months after his diagnosis, the word we have dreaded and never expected has showed up on his MRI report: progression. It’s absolutely devastating to our family of 6. Knowing the severity of the situation and the nature of this horrible disease, we are focusing on making memories primarily alongside searching for other treatment options. We are asking for anyone who is able to come forward and help us to honor Sylvan’s wishes before this progression gets any worse. If that ever were to become the case but of course we won’t believe that will happen. His light shines so intensely on this earth and we all can learn so much from Sylvan. He has huge dreams and we truly feel that he deserves a courage fund for all of the bravery he’s shown throughout this journey. Sylvan’s biggest wish is to move into a big home with a backyard and more space. He also wishes to become an artist and a business man. He wishes to have so many more legos, specifically Mario and Minecraft ones. He wishes for him and his sisters to be able to travel to fun places together, and do fun activities together. It’s not easy right now to provide the memories necessary for the 4 of them with the financial toll of everything that comes with this diagnosis.
