Back story: before we left L.A. in June I tried to organize and coordinate everything to a T for my son who was born with a cleft lip and palate to have his hole in his palate repaired.  He had a significant hole in his palate still, so in march my sweet guy had 2 very intense back to back surgeries which required his tongue be sewed up to his palate for 2 weeks to close the hole like a patch. The second surgery was then to remove that piece of the tongue to close the hole. Well! It didn't entirely work 😢 broke my heart so bad for him. But he's so awesome. I had a cleft lip but not as severe as his so I'm having to re-live all of this. So anyway he needs a surgery again now that the scar tissue has softened a bit. Well, we met with the surgeons here and I'm so sad and disappointed that it didn't turn out at all how I had hoped. The surgeons here want to take apart his entire palate!!! Even his surgeon in L.A. sad that it wouldn't be a good idea since my guy has a good amount of scar tissue already!  

We have a big delema, my sons Dr. In L.A. said that he would do this and my mama heart knows that it's right for the surgeon that who's dealt with him since birth to do this final (God willing) surgery. But it's all a huge rush because his dr is retiring on december 29th but is willing to get takai on his schedule since he's like family.  

My son doesn't do well after surgery, he's combative and hysterical after surgery and his oxygen saturation drops and he stops breathing.  We will have to fly home with the whole family and most likely my husband might not be able to travel back with us.  The thought of him not being there with me scares me.  

We lost everything besides what we had in storage due to mold in L.A. making us sick we had to leave everything and became homeless from February through August (thankfully we had family open their home to us from march to June till we finally found a house in billings, Montana.  We're starting from scratch and basically barely making it here now. My husband has been working over time just to make the regular bills. So most likely he won't even be able to come with myself and the kids to L.A. because he has to work. I'm really not happy about that either since he's the one who can comfort and control my son when he comes out of surgery combative and not doing well with his oxygen sats dropping, he stops breathing and it's terrifying to be alone without him... But it is what it is I'd rather go with all the kids and travel to L.A. rather than some surgeons tearing apart all the work my son's been through.  

This surgery is medically necessary and necessary for his quality of life, Takai will finally be understood when he talks and he will no longer have food and liquids leaking from his nose.  Takai is an amazing guy who everyone who meets him and gets to know him falls completely in love with. He has a huge personality and loves to draw he's a wonderful artist and has loved super heros since he was a baby.  His favorite hero is Batman little does he know he's my greatest super hero!
