Tay's Graduation at FSU
Hey everyone! I'm officially beginning the countdown to graduation day. I will be graduating July 1st from Full Sail University. It's been a long journey from switching degree paths, dealing with significant life changes, and overcoming educational obstacles. But here it is, the finish line. I've worked so hard to get here. Many times I tumbled and felt hopeless, I thought I'd fail and never reach graduation, but every time I managed to pick myself back up and fight through every struggle. Due to the school being based in Florida, I will need to gather travel funds in order to attend the ceremony. While some may believe going isn't necessary, this is a very big moment for me, for many reasons. I worked too hard, fought too long, to not walk that stage. But more than walking for myself, I want to walk proudly for those who won't be there, for the ones who supported me my whole life but will never have the opportunity to witness this big moment.
I'm walking not just for myself, but for my mother who never got to see her baby girl reach this moment, despite being my biggest supporter. I know she would be proud of me for reaching this big milestone in my life and I know she would be with me to record and cheer me on if she were still here.
The goal is set to $4,000 to ensure all travel costs are covered for the dates June 29th - July 11th as this isn't just a trip to walk the stage but a trip to celebrate this major moment with those closest to me. The amount will cover gas for the drive there and back, as well as the necessary stay in a hotel, any food costs, and still leave enough left over in case of emergencies.
It's been a tough road to travel, but I've been supported every step of the way by the most important people in my life. While I am actively trying to save for this trip, it's a bit of a struggle, especially when I won't be going alone. I simply don't make enough to support a car full of people, haha. Then again, who does. Anyway, this fundraiser is here just in case, for anyone who may want to contribute to support the final step in this journey I've been on. Even if financially contributing isn't possible, please share to whoever you think might be willing to contribute! Every share counts.
I thank you all in advance for anyone willing to help in any way they can. This is a really big deal for me and I want to close this chapter with a grand finale.
