We never imagined we'd be in this position—writing to ask for help. It is honestly humbling and a little hard to do. But love pushes us past pride.

For over a year now, we’ve been working tirelessly with the Department of Human Services and the Juvenile Court system in California to bring our baby cousin, Jax, home from foster care. It’s been a long, winding road filled with obstacles, heartache, and moments where we almost lost sight of him completely due to a revolving door of caseworkers.

Then, by what felt like a miracle, we found an attorney who specializes in this kind of case. With their help, we were invited—last minute—to a court hearing earlier this month, and Jax was finally placed with us for a temporary 29-day visit.

He's finally home with us, and we're settling in: lots of love, diaper changes, baby giggles, and the kind of love that fills a room.

But our journey isn’t over. Legal proceedings are ongoing, and each court date means more attorney fees, more travel to California, and more unpaid time off work. We expect at least 4–5 more court appearances ahead.

We’ve been so moved by the kind messages and support we've received. Many of you have asked, “What do you need?” And though it’s hard for us to ask, the truth is: financial help would mean the world to us right now.
