Aloha,

I am reaching out to our community today with an open, humble heart. I was born in the beautiful town of Lahaina, Maui, but for over a decade, I have proudly called Las Vegas my home. Every single day, I try to live by and share the true spirit of Aloha—which means meeting the world with love, deep compassion, and a commitment to protecting family (’Ohana).

Recently, our family was hit by an unexpected storm when I was suddenly laid off after 13 years of dedicated service. To make our situation harder, because my incredibly brave wife is working two jobs to keep food on our table while actively fighting breast cancer, the state has denied us any unemployment or assistance. The automated system simply cannot see the crushing weight of the medical bills we face daily.

Right now, I am operating as a full-time caregiver, doing everything in my power to protect, shield, and comfort the people I love most. Our home is currently holding some very heavy health journeys:

• My Beautiful Wife: Pushing her body to the limit with two jobs while undergoing breast cancer treatments.
• My Sweet Mother: Needing gentle, 24/7 care as she navigates Alzheimer’s, dementia, and HIV.
• My 17-Year-Old Child: Working through severe scoliosis that requires intensive, ongoing therapy.
• My Dear Sister: Facing her own battle across the country as her cervical cancer slowly returns.

Looking forward, I am a natural go-getter and am researching daily to build our own sustainable future. My vision is to open either a local smog check station or an authentic Hawaiian shaved ice business to bring a little piece of my childhood home to the desert and protect my family from future layoffs. However, because our immense medical debts have severely impacted my credit score, traditional bank loans are completely closed to us right now.
