Hello, my name is Teri and I have had declining eyesight for years due to age-related macular degeneration, asteroid hyalosis, floaters, beginning cataracts and have now been diagnosed with ocular melanoma - a large tumor on the back of my left eye. It is already causing some retinal detachment although I do not yet know if it has metastisised. Due to the size there are only two 'standard' options - a radioactive plaque surgically sewn to the back of the eye, with a later surgery to remove it: or enucleation - complete removal of the eye. Both would require ongoing treatment and continual monitoring. I have researched the risks and I want to make it clear I do not consider the radioactive plaque a good option. With enucleation I will require 6-8 weeks recovery before being fitted with a prosthesis. I am unemployed/retired with no insurance and no savings but may be able to access funds for surgery. I am seeking funding for the following and have researched amounts needed as best I can: *consult and scans with oncology specialist to check for probability of metastases before final decision on surgery *consult and testing with ocular nutritionist before and after to strengthen my body's response to the cancer and to the treatments *nutritional supplements *temporary housing for recovery as I and my daughter are currently unhoused *transportation needs to doctor visits, surgeries, follow-up visits, grocery, etc. as I will be unable to drive for a time
