My daughter's husband, my son in law, Carl Elm is currently in ICU at Jefferson hospital. This family has been through so much in the past few years with Carl's health. This latest health crisis is from a hernia that pushed itself up into his stomach infecting his intestines. Yesterday 1:30am Carl was taken by ambulance the hospital his bloodwork was very bad. They did emergency surgery yesterday afternoon to remove part of his intestines, & the infection, but right before the surgery Carl suffered a seizure. After the surgery, Carls heart stopped beating they worked on him doing cpr for 22 minutes to bring him back. Because of this, he needed a blood transfusion. He had another surgery this morning to remove more infection and will do this tomorrow also. Carl will be starting dialysis for his kidneys to help remove the toxins in his body. There is a long road ahead for this family health wise and financially. His wife Anna can't work right now due to Carl's hospitalization. Any help would be much appreciated as they have 2 sons, Jacob & Lucas, a mortgage, and utilities plus medical bills.
