The Henderson Family

Dear Friends, Family, Brothers, and Community Members,

In the days since the unexpected passing of Jon Henderson, one thing has become

abundantly clear. Jon built something extraordinary in this world: a strong and genuine

community.

Whether with family, colleagues, fraternity brothers, fellow officials, or his parish at St.

Dominic, Jon had a remarkable ability to go beyond the surface and truly connect. He

didn’t just know people, but he invested in them. He checked in. He made the call. He

made the effort. He made people feel seen, valued, and supported in a way that is hard to

put into words, but impossible to forget.

And somehow, he did all that while being exactly what his family needed most. A protector.

As many of you know, Jon was the steady foundation of his family. He was a devoted

husband to Christie, a proud father to Hannah and Justin, a loving “Papa” to Jon Robert,

and a dedicated son and son-in-law. Everything he did, at work and at home, was centered

on caring for them and making sure they always had what they needed, plus a little extra.

With his sudden passing, Christie and the family are now facing an unexpected and

difficult transition.

We want to be very clear about one thing: Christie has not asked for this, nor does she

know this outreach is being made. This is simply a reflection of the kind of community Jon

built, one that shows up, takes care of its own, and steps in without being asked.

If Jon taught us anything, it’s that there are no “secrets,” but instead just the daily choice to

show up for one another. And now, we have an opportunity to do just that for his family.

For those who feel moved to help support Christie and her family during this time,

please follow the link to contribute.

Whether you knew Jon for decades or simply shared a connection through this broader

community, your support, of any kind, is a way of honoring the life he lived.

Jon spent his life lifting others up. This is our chance to do the same for the family he loved

so deeply.
