The Mama J MSW Fund
Hey community,
After 20+ years working at the intersection of education, equity, and organizational well-being, I’m going back to school—I’ve been accepted into the MSW (Master of Social Work) program at USC!
This is more than a personal milestone. It’s a call to action.
As a coach and strategist, I’ve worked with changemakers, educators, and movement leaders navigating deep burnout, grief, and transformation. Again and again, I’ve asked:
What does it take for us to feel truly safe, seen, and resourced in our healing?
Even with access and privilege, I’ve personally experienced the trauma of systems not built for us.
Yup, please read the above truth again. 🫶🏽
From giving birth at home due to medical bias to supporting clients unraveling internalized oppression while dismantling systemic and institutional oppression, I’ve witnessed how systemic harm and mental wellness are deeply entangled.
That’s why I’m saying YES to becoming a licensed mental health professional.
The Mama J MSW Fund is my freedom dream—to be debt free during this next chapter—and an invitation for you to walk alongside me. Your contribution helps cover tuition, books, after-school care, and the various expenses associated with graduate school, allowing me to stay rooted in my work while pursuing clinical training.
This isn’t just about obtaining another degree. It’s about building a future where coaching, therapy, and liberatory strategy meet because it’s our birthright to flourish!
Whether you give $5, $50, or simply share the campaign, I’m grateful. 🫶🏽
Thank you for investing in care that goes beyond the individual and ripples into community.
In Lovelution…
Mama J
