Christine Miller
The Richter Family
On Sunday January 7th at exactly 1:15 pm both of our daughters were hit by an F150 traveling at least 40mph that ran a local red light. Our 20 yr old was taken to a local hospital where she was later released and then evaluated at an accident specialist physicians office the following day. Our 17 yr old was airlifted from the scene to ORMC in Orlando as a trauma patient where she is still receiving treatment and recovering slowly but surely. The oldest is currently suffering multiple back, neck and jaw injuries and receiving PT 3 times a week while still waiting for her scheduled MRI. The other had to receive her first transfusion on day 7 and has had her broken femur repaired with a rod through emergency surgery. She also suffered multiple pelvic fractures, ripped muscles and additional Pelvic area injuries. On day 7 she received a blood transfusion because her body is not keeping up with the amount of blood loss from surgery and we've been able to lower her high heart rate for days :( Once her pain is under control, her blood levels are safe, and she is able to physically sit up or move from a laying position we will be transported to an inpatient rehabilitation center for atleast 7-10 days. Following inpatient rehabilitation she will need the assistance of myself and home visits along with OT and PT outside of the home while working on her healing journey. My vehicle is the car that was totaled in the accident. Prior to the accident their father , my husband has been out of work due to a work related injury fracturing his knee with an expected healing time of 6-8 months that occurred early December. Both of our girls, myself and my husband have jobs but are unable to work until they have all healed and until my care is not needed bedside for our trauma patient. Due to the cost we've already invested into the situation and our upcoming financial needs we could really use the help of our “ VILLAGE” to keep us afloat while none of us are working. Thankfully we currently have my husbands income still coming in but without being able to return to work we are expecting to have only workman's comp coming in soon which is only 2/3rds of his usual income that just makes us able to get by while the girls and I usually take care of all our own needs and house needs and additional bills aside from the main ones he takes care of. Any help is appreciated! We've received so much love and support from everyone and we have had many people ask about a fundraiser but we wanted to wait until we knew what to expect and the amount that would help us with the cost of medical needs, a vehicle replacement with the assistance of the totaled amount and our regular monthly costs for several months until one of us is able to return to work and start bringing in a helpful income again. Thank you for any donation and for all of your support emotionally!
