Resilience and Purpose

Rising from the ashes of a severely injured body, Amanda carries a spirit that even the violence she endured at the hands of a mentally unstable nursing-home resident could not stifle.

Throughout her life, she has helped others recover from hardship. She is the kind of person who will:

  • Travel across state lines to support a friend in need.
  • Open her home to someone until they can stand on their own two feet.
  • Use her experience and compassion to help others rebuild their lives.

The Beginning of Artemis

Amanda had long dreamed of creating a business that would strengthen her community while helping individuals move forward. About ten years ago, that dream began to take shape as an idea—the idea that would become Artemis.

A Career in Public Safety

For the past ten years, Amanda has served as an unarmed security officer in Oregon, helping keep attendees safe at concerts, sporting events, and other public gatherings. Four years ago, she expanded that commitment by becoming a state-certified unarmed-security instructor, educating others in the practices that help protect our communities.

Creating Artemis

Three years ago, Amanda began working closely with someone who became a profound source of inspiration and encouragement for her dream of starting a public-safety business. Together, they spent countless hours developing a name that would capture her vision. Two years ago, Artemis was born—a name that embodies the spirit of a protector.

Carrying the Dream Forward

Sadly, Amanda lost that cherished source of inspiration a little more than a year ago. Yet the dream endured. She continued working tirelessly to bring Artemis to life, and today she is closer than ever to making that vision a reality. Along the way, many others have stepped forward to offer their time, encouragement, and support, helping her move steadily toward her goal.

The Mission of Artemis

Artemis Protection Group provides competent, reliable, and respectful security services that help people feel safe without making them feel intimidated. Artemis seeks to raise the standard of private security by employing professionals who are prepared, attentive, approachable, and committed to serving with integrity.

Our goal is to build lasting client relationships through consistent service, thoughtful attention to the needs of each location, and practical security plans that help create safe, smoothly operated environments.

Honoring a Legacy Through Service

In memory of the friend who inspired Amanda’s dream, Artemis is committed to hiring military veterans. Veterans will make up a significant portion of the company’s workforce, allowing Artemis to honor their service while benefiting from their discipline, experience, and dedication to protecting others.

The Final Step

One major obstacle remains before Artemis Protection Group can fully launch: the cost of Oregon’s required private-security licensing fees. After seeking assistance through small-business resources, we were encouraged to pursue community fundraising. That is why we are reaching out now.

I am the Mom, and the one putting this together for Amanda. We do appreciate all the love and compassion shown to Amanda over the years on this journey. We are proud of her dedication through so many trials to continue putting one foot in front of the other no matter how much pain she endures. It has certainly been a village process! We have witnessed so many miracles along the way, in the lives of people she has met who have helped bring this to pass. Dear friends near and far, this could not have been done without you! We love you all! (Lorraine Firth)
