Heyooo it's your favorite flag-burning nuisance with a request for crumbs. A lot of you might already know but the first year I held my big, queer Halloween party, I had a lot of spare funds to throw at it from my lawsuit against UPD.
Those funds long since ran dry, and my solution for the second coming of this event was to charge cover. That didn't really work, and I really hated doing it, and also it only reimbursed me for like 10% of what the party actually cost.
This year I thought I might try something new! So here's a lil' fundraiser I'm throwing together. The goal is set a little higher than I anticipate needing, and in the event that there is a leftover amount maybe I can finally put together the costume contest with a prize and everything like I've wanted to do for the past 2 years.
It's not life or death that this funraiser hits its goal, but it WILL help me to NOT go into further debt than I already am. The party gets cheaper every time I have it because I can rely on some of the materials bought for the previous one, but the alcohol and food still has to be purchased every time... plus I still love decking out with more decorations each round. Pay what you can and when the day comes hopefully I won't have to suggest a cover charge ๐ค
I really love having this event for y'all, and I hope I can keep doing it for the remainder of the time I'm in Champaign.
