The Triplets are coming!
Help Us Welcome Three Little Miracles
In October, my youngest daughter called me from the hospital, 900 miles away, at 10 PM to say, "Hey Mom, you're going to be a grandma... of triplets." To say I was shocked is an understatement. My baby, just 21 years old and barely 5'2", is about to become a mom for the first time—and of three precious little ones.
This pregnancy has been anything but easy. For the past five weeks, my daughter has been on complete bed rest at a hospital three hours from home. She’s undergone a cerclage to keep the babies safe, but her doctors have informed us that delivery will need to happen within the next 14 days—four months early.
Right now, the babies are doing remarkably well for their circumstances. They have strong heart rates and are measuring between 1.5 and 2 pounds each. But with limited space, their growth is slowing, and the situation is delicate.
As a family, we’re preparing for the long road ahead. The babies will likely stay in the NICU for months, and my daughter will need significant recovery time after her C-section. My son-in-law and I will need to take time off work to support her and the babies, and we’re trying to secure temporary housing near the hospital for her while the babies are in the NICU.
It’s hard for us to ask for help. We’ve always been the kind of family to take care of things on our own. But this is bigger than us, and we need a little help to make sure they can keep their home, car, and essentials like food and gas during this critical time.
We’ll have time later to gather the things the babies need for when they come home, but right now, our focus is on helping my daughter through this challenging time and giving these tiny miracles the best start in life.
Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to us. And as a token of our gratitude, I’d love to send you a jar of my homemade jam if you’d like.
Blessings come in all shapes and sizes, and we are grateful for yours.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Maggie
