Dear Friends and Family,

I am writing to you today about the Wagener Family. My daughter, Victoria Wagener, my son-in-law, Michael, and their two children Marley and Tovah have recently experienced emergent needs. A few months back, Victoria, Michael and Marley experienced the loss of their home due to a sewage flood. Because the property management company was not able to fix their home in a timely manner, this led to homelessness, sleeping in their car, and sometimes staying in motel for one or two nights if and when they were able to receive that type of help.

Because they did not want their daughter Marley, to sleep in the car or not be able to go to school, they brought Marley to me (I'm her Granna), so she would have a warm roof over her head and so she could go to school every day. Tovah lives with her mother. Victoria and Michael both got jobs at Amazon and then both were offered jobs at Walmart. It was more money and they didn't have to work overnights as this was a worry for both of them that once they got moved into a place, they most certainly did not want Marley to be home alone at night.

They have been diligently searching for a place to live, while sleeping in their car, and keeping their work schedules. I have been searching for places while they're working and fretting because my babies are suffering right now. I've heard people say they could have made better choices or they are choosing to sleep in their car. No, really, they aren't. They are making the best of what is in front of them. They are choosing their daughters over themselves. They've couch surfed, they've stayed with friends temporarily, they've come to me and I do whatever I can for them all. They've sought help in all the right directions, it's just it doesn't always work out the way we'd like it too. BUT....

The sun sometimes shines in dark places and leads us forward. I can say without hesitation, that this happened for us a couple of days ago. We came across a 3 bedroom 2 bath apartment in Arlington that not only can the three of us afford, but it also has a washer and dryer in the unit. All the applications have been submitted and now there are fees we'll need help with. Move-In Costs, they call them. After these Move-In costs, we'll be able to move forward on our own, feeling amazingly blessed by your lovingkindness. Please understand that while sometimes it's very hard to ask for help, for yourself or even for someone else, sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do for you. This is what I am doing here for my family that I love so dearly.

Here are the "Move-In Costs" for the apartment:

Application Screening Fee x 3 = $123

Holding Deposit = $250 (this will go toward the security deposit)

December Move-in Charges = $1590
