Theater & Pride Shirts!
My middle school students designed beautiful t-shirts to commemorate their achievements this year, and I'm hoping to raise enough money to cover the costs!
We put on the first school play that our school has seen in many years, and students designed a gorgeous purple shirt with "BMS Theater Arts" in a golden planet on the front (it was a sci-fi show!). Anyone who has ever been in a play knows the importance of the shirts with everyone's names on the back. Hopefully it is the first of many more BMS Theater Arts shows and show shirts!
Rainbow Club is a safe space and solidarity group for queer and trans students (and it's the largest club on campus!). At the beginning of June we held a school-wide pride parade extravaganza and students design a t-shirt to wear to the parade and commemorate another year of queer pride. The shirts are white and feature blank flags so that students can color in any flag that they want and decorate the shirts with paint pens and tie-dye.
The shirts are printed by a small local company in San Leandro that makes great quality shirts for a good price, but for almost a hundred shirts the costs do add up! To make it as accessible as possible, each student that was able to paid $5 for their shirts. The school wasn't able to reimburse me for the advance order, so I am trying to make up the rest of the costs. Please pitch in if you can!
Thank you!
