I am trying to raise money to fix my mom and dad's small trailer home in the mountains. It is where they go to get away from the city. Over the course of several years and several storms it has become dilapidated. A faulty roof has left water damage and now mold. My parents are 84 years old and love the peace and quiet of the mountains. The stairs had to be taken out because of wind damage. The windows are old and it needs a complete overhaul. Insulation, carpet, siding, tile , drywall and some replacement furniture. My parents have worked hard all of their lives, raised 5 children one with Down syndrome who still lives with them. Have suffered the loss of two. I do not live in the same state as them, and it hurts me to know that they cannot get away. I would love to surprise them on their 57th anniversary in October with an upgraded getaway home. I am a widower and have three children of my own. My older sister who cares for my parents and my sister has done so much. She goes above and beyond. I would love to contribute in my parents well being by giving them their happy place back. I have asked several contractors for estimates and to have it be safe and up to code it will cost several thousands of dollars. My sister and I will not be able to do this on our own. My mother is the last surviving child of 11. My father's family has been gone for years. I want them to spend their last remaining years in a happy place whenever they need it.
