I recently found an orphaned baby raccoon, due to not having a permit, I had to turn it over to a wildlife rehabber. It took me 3 days to even find one, all wild life rehabbers are overwhelmed will all the babies they are getting in. After having this baby for 3 days my home now feels empty and if we wouldn’t have found him, he would have without a doubt died of starvation. I am trying to raise money to get the permit, and enclosure requirements by the DNR to be able to save them. My intent is to start with raccoons and move to other wildlife in need. Anything helps I wish I could have kept the baby I found, but if DNR would have caught wind I had him without a permit they would show up, charge me, and kill him on spot for being “domesticated”. Please help if you can. Thank you
