Welcome to Wild Whiskers! Led by a local teen as a hands-on Homeschool Civics project, Wild Whiskers of Sanger Heights is a community-driven Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) initiative. Our goal is to humanely manage and care for the community cat population right here in Waco!

What is TNR?

Trap-Neuter-Return is the most effective and humane way to stabilize stray cat populations. We safely trap neighborhood community cats, transport them to be spayed/neutered and vaccinated for rabies, and return them safely to their outdoor homes to live healthier, non-reproducing lives.

How This Group Works (And How You Can Help!):

Report a Cat: See a stray hanging around your porch? Post it here! We are building a "Neighborhood Map" of hotspots. If you are willing to let us set a humane trap on your property for a night, let us know!

Sponsor a Fix: While ABC provides the surgeries, the required rabies vaccine is $15 per cat in some locations. We rely on neighborhood crowdfunding to cover these medical fees.

Gear & Supplies: We are always looking for donations of old towels, newspaper, canned cat food, fish (for bait!), and dry kibble to share with the community guardians!

IMPORTANT NOTE: We are NOT a rescue or a shelter. We do not have the facilities to take in owner-surrendered pets, rehome indoor cats, or act as an animal control service. We are simply neighbors working together to help our outdoor community ecosystem thrive!

Thank you for being part of the solution. Let’s get to work!
