Baxter will be 12 years old on May 1st. He hasn't had an easy life but he sure can roll with the punches! He is my little energizer bunny. He's always moving and going and doing. He loves his squeaker toys and plays fetch until I have to stop. He loves to go for walks and I let him set the pace and distance. He is always out to the end of his leash pulling me along. He always makes me smile and giggle and laugh out loud. He is my sunshine on a rainy day. He has a collapsed trachea, which is common in Pomeranians. Springtime is harder for him and his trachea because of those pesky pollinating plants. He coughs a lot and mostly at night. Depending on how hard and how long he coughs determines if I will give him the narcotic syrup or benedryl. His ticker was diagnosed as enlarged and retaining fluid about 3 years ago. He's on 4 prescriptions to help that heart to keep on ticking. About a month ago his face blew up. Yes. Really. He had an abcessed tooth and had to have an emergency dental cleaning. The week before the face bomb my female pomeranian tussled with him and knocked his shoulder out of joint. That took us to urgent care. Today he refused breakfast at first and then only ate 1/2 of it and he threw that little bit up. I know he doesn't feel good because he won't stop shivering. If I take him to his doctor, and I'm going to have to, it will multiply his stress level to a 8.2 on the richtor scale. I don't know how much longer I'm going to have him but I'd like to make the most of it and make sure he is well taken care of. I'm asking for whatever help your are willing and/or able to give me to help him live out his golden years in comfort.
