As many of you know, it has been a goal of mine to run the Abbott World Major Marathons. I have completed Boston, New York, and Chicago. In September I will run Berlin. That leaves me with Tokyo and London. I recently found out that I have been selected as a charity runner for the Tokyo Marathon taking place on March 3, 2024. I have committed to raising 173,000 yen or $1,250 for Action against Child Exploitation or ACE. This charity is based in Japan and is committed to helping end child labor. Here is what they plan to do with the monies raised by the charity runners they selected for the 2024 Tokyo Marathon.

"There are currently estimated to be 160 million children around the world who cannot receive an education and are in danger of serious injury and disease due to hazardous labour. ACE strives for a world without child labour and provides direct support to children and families who are engaged in child labour in India and Ghana. Donations from “Tokyo Marathon 2024” will be used to aid villages in India and Ghana in becoming child labour-free. Monies raised will be used specifically for school preparation and support, vocational training, support for improving household income, community awareness raising, etc.) in the project countries as well as for support, advocacy and research initiatives in Japan."

Please consider helping me reach my goal of raising $1,250 for this worthy cause. I can't imagine my three girls not having the opportunity to receive an education or being forced to work at a young age.
