It’s finally happening!! I feel really fortunate that my surgery is fully covered (thanks Obama) and that I have plenty of community support for recovery. I work for myself, so I don’t have paid sick leave and I am fundraising to cover the time I need to take off and be financially secure. In the past few months, I was unexpectedly forced to move and evicted with only a few days notice and that fiasco led to a lot of unexpected expenses. My cost of living is higher than I would like right now since I didn’t have sufficient time to line up affordable housing. Some extra money in the bank would really help me go into the operating room feeling prepared and secure. Every dollar counts - thanks for taking the time to read this!
