Hi, my name is Alex. I’m making this my final search for help with my situation. I was affected by a tornado that hit Saint Louis, Missouri, in May of last year, which damaged my apartment building badly enough to the point of having water damage in most of my apartment. I was originally told the property owners would take care of it, only to be told at the beginning of August I had to leave in 10 days because the building was being condemned. This turned out not to be true because no city officials came to condemn the building. I do now have a case building to take them to court. As I’m doing that, I am trying to find my new home. I’ve been to shelters and jumped from hotel to hotel trying to save and find a new place. But with the fees for my lawyer and just day-to-day needs, I’m struggling. I’ve looked into programs, and they can’t help me unless I have kids, am a domestic violence victim, am under 20, and don’t meet the financial requirements for assistance. I’ve gotten in contact with distant relatives for help with no luck. So if anyone can help, I would gladly appreciate it.
