Trans Day of Remembrance Chatt
Hey cisgender folks: In an effort to support our trans, non-binary, and gender nonconforming friends and family, I want us to do something that is useful for Trans Day of Remembrance in Chattanooga, TN on November 20.
For those who don't know, it is a day when people around the world honor trans folks who have lost their lives to violence. The purpose of reading these names is to call attention to the very real threat that transphobia and erasure poses to people's lives. However, this tradition is stressful and traumatic for many trans folks in our community.
I'm working on hiring some massage therapists, aroma therapists, and mindfulness specialists to create a space of self-care and healing for Trans, GNC, and NB folks who need it during the Nov 20 event.
Here's where you come in, cis folks.
I want to make these services free for the day. Every $10 equals a ten minute session for someone. It doesn't sound like much, but it can do a world of good for someone who needs it. Comment below if you'd be willing to contribute. And feel free to share. The deadline for donations will be Nov 16
If the campaign exceeds its goal, the excess money will be donated to a charity chosen by the organizing committee of Chattanooga's Trans Day of Remembrance.
Thankye, and much love.
