I need your help! And the pure, unadulterated joy on the faces of those two little boys in the above photo is why.

That is a selfie I took from Guatemala nearly four years ago to the day. Two months prior to taking that picture, I had just quit my finance job and left home in Philadelphia to begin what ended up as a two-year volunteer stint working with children, mothers, and families of The GOD'S CHILD Project (www.GodsChild.org). One of the many hats I wore in my volunteer role was to arrive at the end of every service team's home build to formally hand over the new home to each deserving family. This build site in particular was brimming with the excited screams of the children who were going to call this new house their home, and the joyful giggles of neighborhood kids who were happy for their friends. As I translated heartfelt messages of gratitude back and forth between family and service team, tears flowed and hearts opened. Everybody had received a profound gift that day.

The joy in those children's faces is wherein lies the ask I am about to make to you - my friend, my family, my colleague, or even someone I haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet. I am leading yet another service team down to Guatemala with The GOD'S CHILD Project from February 9th - 18th to build more homes for more deserving families. We will be 12 in total, constructing 2 new homes over the course of three days from the foundation to the roof. We need your support in providing the means to build them. A donation from you today will go towards construction materials, water filters, fuel-efficient stoves, beds, home furnishings, and groceries for the families. A profound sense of relief and happiness overwhelms the family as they settle into their warm, dry, safe, and dignified home.

We will also spend time assisting in the organization's Casa Jackson Hospital for Malnourished Children. There we will be huggers and holders for the baby-patients who are recuperating from life threatening starvation. With your support, we will also purchase crucial supplies for the hospital including diapers, baby wipes, formula, and medicine.
