Travel To Fathers Funeral
A couple of weeks ago my father's wife Francis fell and broke her neck. My dad found her and got her help and she was taken to the hospital and transferred to another hospital. While she was in the hospital my father passed quietly at home.
I live in Hawaii and was told that there would be no services until my dad's widow was out of the hospital. As my father lived in Oregon and the rest of my family there too and in Washington I pressed for a date and got the same story. I kept reiterating that I need some kind of time frame and was told that no one knew. And then someone slipped and I found out that viewing was this coming Sunday August, 22 2023. I was still told that there was no date for the funeral just the viewing. I kept pressing and nothing until I posted that I would make the arrangements if no one else would and wrote to the family members and still nothing. Then I got communication finally from my step mothers family with whom I had just included in a conversation and was told that the funeral was ... like it should be the day after the viewing.
Now it's going to take a miracle for Mr to get there as ticket prices that close to my flight time have quadrupled and if I am able to purchase tickets myself I will not be able to rent a car to make the 84 mile trip to my father's town of residence, or be able to put fuel in the car or pay for meals or anything else. I'm sure that I am not going to be a welcome sight as there is definitely a reason that I was excluded so getting a ride meals or a place to stay from family is probably not happening.
I'm sure my father would be furious with their actions and that he would want me there absolutely no doubt. And I need to go say goodbye. I'm sure I'm being excluded because of the will that I ad the eldest son helped him prepare.
Please help me get home to say goodbye I don't have much time as I'd like to be on a plane by August 24th if you do donate I thank you from the bottom of my heart and God bless you and your family.
