Tribute to Our Margarita
I think that the majority of us are still in a bit of shock on the passing of Margarita or Maggie, depending on how you knew her... I know we are.
Our mother was one of the most loving people you've ever come across in life and after reading all the texts, FB comments, listening to voicemails and emails- We weren't the only ones who felt this way. She was the kind of person that didn't tell you about her sorrows, she asked about yours. She never hesitated on not being there for the people she loved. Whether it was a wedding, a baby shower, a birthday, a baptism, a graduation, a retierment party or even a funeral- she always showed up and of course never empty handed... that was our mom.
As my brother and I start to sort out the pieces of saying goodbye to our mom, we are realizing that there are so many little things that we didn't know or pay attention to. It's as if she knew she would be leaving us soon and slowly began leaving clues and tasks to complete. It makes me smile as it reminds us of how clever she truly was and at the same time how selfless she is, that she didn't speak of what she was feeling.
As proud as our mother was, the one thing she hated doing was asking for financial help... unless it was her last resort. She would sacrifice whatever she had to be sure her family was always taken care of- young or old. That is the one thing that she told my brother Marcos, her husband Juan, my aunt Juanita and I- Take Care of Each other ALWAYS if I am ever gone. We will, we are and we will continue!
As we continue to mourn and wrap up her financial matters, we would like to be sure that her debts are paid, her extensive medical expenses are handled and her wish to be cremated and spread through family are carried out.
At this time we appreciate any financial assistance in making this possible.
*Our mother asked that we NOT host a funeral, rather a celebration and party in her rememberence. The invitation to her "fiesta" will be coming shortly, but will be held in Wenatchee Wa on 01.13.2024
With lots of love and thanks,
Monica and Marcos
