Trina's Next CAAT Adventure

The Canadian Animal Assistance Team (CAAT) is back in planning mode again

and this team member is looking for your help!

We are headed to Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic, for our next project, November 8th to 13th. The CAAT team provides animal exams, vaccines, parasite prevention, and spay/neuter surgeries, to areas with little to no access to veterinary medicine. We just recently completed an extremely successful project in Northern BC, now we're ready to set up our clinic in a warmer climate. Plus, I will be spending my birthday with my CAAT family, it will be another first!

Our hosts have generously offered us food and accommodations while we are working at the Clinic, but we are responsible for our own airfare and associated costs.  Many of our supplies are donated, but we do have to purchase certain items. I am hoping to raise enough funds to cover my flight and some extra supplies (bottles of injectable antibiotics, suture, pain medication, etc) . I would also love to collect donated items for pets: leashes, collars, brushes, etc., as well as items for the kids...pencils, markers, colouring books, stickers, etc. I will have a box at Central Victoria Veterinary Hospital and I can collect items in and around the Greater Victoria Area between now and November 5th.

I will be updating my Facebook Page throughout the trip and hope to get some videos uploaded too, giving you an inside look as to what our volunteers do at the clinic!

Last year, I offered a free canine massage or fitness session for local donations $50 or above. It's back!! (So are the brownies)

For local donors:
Over $200 - Free 2 days of pet sitting (depending on availability)
$50 - $200 - Free Canine Massage or Fitness Session
$30 - $50 - Fresh baked brownies or cookies, your choice!

Thank you in advance for your generous donation! I can't explain how much these projects mean to the communities we visit, controlling their pet population has a huge impact on their community. We offer educational material as well, teaching children compassion for animals, as well as bite prevention. As a volunteer, we are lucky enough to immerse ourselves in new cultures and languages. These projects create lasting relationships...and so many amazing memories!

Here are a few picture from the St Lucia trip, just to give you an idea of where we work, and what we do!
