Tristan's Road to College

This fall was supposed to be a big step forward for Tristan — his second semester of college is about to begin, and with no dorm availability this time, he planned to commute from home so he could continue doing what he loves most: marching band.

Band has been a part of Tristan’s life since 2015, when he first picked up the trumpet. It’s far more than a class — it’s his passion, his community, and the dream he’s pursued for nearly a decade. His goal is to join one of the major marching bands while he’s still eligible (the cutoff age is 21, and he turns 20 this December).

He recently traveled to San Antonio to experience the DCI Southwestern Championship at the Alamodome on July 19, 2025 — a premier event in the world of Drum Corps International. Being surrounded by that level of talent and energy only strengthened his determination to one day perform at that stage himself.

But last week, his car was hit — frame damage, a dislodged front tire, a damaged door, and a hanging mirror. The repair estimate is around $6,000, which is more than the car’s value. Without a vehicle, Tristan has no way to get to classes, practices, or performances — all of which are essential to his college and band commitments.

We’ve explored online classes, but band can’t be done online, and Tristan doesn’t want to sit this out. He’s worked too hard to get here — lining up his financial aid, registering for courses, and preparing for the semester — and he’s so close to the next big step.

Beyond college, Tristan dreams of going into missionary work, traveling to churches and using his music and his life story to make a difference. He’s the kind of young man who dreams big — not just for himself, but for others too.

We’re trying to raise enough to either repair his car or find a safe, used one so he can keep chasing that dream.

If you’re able to donate, share, or simply send encouragement, it would mean the world to our family. Thank you for helping keep Tristan’s future on track. 💚
