Fundraiser for MRI

My dear friends and family-

You all know we would never ask unless truly needed. We are at a time of need. This year has been incredibly difficult for our pets- Hiccup developed liver disease, Rosie needed small surgery (twice!), Nova had several illnesses then we said goodbye in August, and now Truman.

Over Labor Day weekend Truman acutely developed an unbalanced gait in his hind end. Our primary vet was very concerned and referred us to a neurologist. In the 5 days before the neurology appointment Truman progressed from an unbalanced gait to dragging his toes to knuckling over when standing. His neurology exam revealed a concern regarding his spine; per the Doctor’s notes:

“Opinion: T3-L3 myelopathy

Rule-Outs:

Disk

Neoplasia Inflammation/Infection Ischemic/Vascular Congenital/Anomaly

Recommended MRI of the TL spine (discussed anesthetic risk). Also recommended strict crate confinement for 4 weeks (in case disk-related).”

We are hoping to raise the funds needed to get Truman the MRI that he needs. He is currently confined to his kennel 20 hours a day as we are following the doctor’s instructions. He has shown no improvement in the past 2 weeks of confinement. His recheck with the doctor is October 4th. We appreciate any assistance you can offer even if that is simply sharing our story.

Truman is our very special pup. Born January 31st 2016 to a mother that was abandoned and tied to a business front door. He was 1 of 7 puppies born the night after his mother’s rescue. He was the runt of the litter and at birth was three quarters of a pound smaller than his siblings. But this sweet tiny boy was full of life; all he ever wants is to spread love to everyone he meets. He wiggles with his whole body and his giant tongue will kiss you from head to toe. He loves bathing in the sun and butt scratches for hours. He enjoys long hikes and naps on the couch. He’s the perfect potato, our sweet baby hippo. After losing his big sister we prepared to spoil him and give him the world. We are praying for miracles that his future will be full of adventures to come. ❤️
