Hello everyone,

My name is Ingrid, and I am currently in my second year at Portland State University. I am also a proud single mother to my incredible five-year-old daughter, Taylor.

Going back to school has been one of the hardest and most meaningful decisions I have ever made. I am pursuing my education because I believe it is the path to creating a better future—not only for myself, but more importantly, for my daughter. I want her to grow up seeing that perseverance, hard work, and hope can change the course of our lives.

To support us while attending school, I work two jobs at the university. Unfortunately, because of my class schedule, I am only able to work limited hours, and the income is not enough to cover both our living expenses and the increasing costs of my education. I also no longer qualify for grants that previously helped me stay in school.

Every dollar raised through this fundraiser will go directly toward my tuition and required textbooks. Your support will help me remain enrolled at Portland State University and continue making progress toward earning my degree.

There have been moments when I wondered if I should give up, but I have come too far to walk away now. While I still have another half of my degree to complete, I am closer to my dream than I have ever been. I believe that finishing my education will allow me to build a stable career, provide security for Taylor, and break the cycle of simply surviving from day to day.

My dream has never been just to earn a degree. I want to use my education to give back to my community and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. I hope that one day I can be the person who helps someone else overcome the obstacles they are facing today.

Creating this GoFundMe was not easy. Asking for help has always been difficult for me. But I realized that allowing pride or embarrassment to stand in the way would only continue the same struggles I hope to spare my daughter from. Taylor deserves the opportunity to grow up with stability, hope, and the knowledge that dreams are worth pursuing.
