Tuition Help
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read my story.
My name is Brittany, and I am raising funds so I can return to school and finish my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting after a medical, legal, and housing crisis changed everything for my family.
What Happened
In 2023, my husband, Rodney Spinato, was seriously injured in an accident. An insurance company later denied his claim using false information about the incident. That denial cut off access to the medical care he urgently needed and left us without income.
As a result:
My husband could not continue medical treatment
He lost his contract work as an oil field operator
He lost his CDL training opportunity
The small business we had just started collapsed
We lost our home, our belongings, and became homeless
We are now in an active lawsuit against the insurance company responsible, with trial set for November 2026. Until then, there is no financial relief coming from the case.
Why School Matters So Much
During this hardship, I made the decision to go back to school so I could build a stable future for us. I successfully completed my first semester and was only three weeks from finishing my second semester when another crisis hit.
My husband’s attorney unexpectedly withdrew from the case after nearly two years. All attempts to secure legal aid or pro bono representation failed, leaving me to step in and manage the case myself — while also caring for my husband, working part-time, and helping maintain the home where we are temporarily staying.
I could no longer keep up with classes and was forced to stop attending.
Because of this interruption, my federal financial aid is now extremely limited. I have already exhausted FAFSA appeals, school emergency funds, and advisor options. The school advised me that crowdfunding is the only remaining way for me to return and finish my degree.
What I Am Asking For
I am seeking help to cover:
$2,500 in tuition needed to re-enroll
Books and school supplies
Basic household bills (electric, water, internet)
Every dollar raised will go directly toward allowing me to return to school and complete my degree so I can support my family long-term.
Why Your Support Matters
This fundraiser is not about luxury or extras — it is about survival, education, and stability.
Finishing my degree would allow me to:
Secure stable employment
Support my husband through recovery and a long legal fight
Rebuild after homelessness
Regain independence and dignity
If you are unable to donate, sharing this page or keeping us in your thoughts means just as much.
Thank you for reading our story and for any kindness you can offer.
With gratitude,
Brittany
